Good work

Well, I'm not as enthusiastic about FF as I used to be, but this was a good collab.

Square Hard: This was pretty funny. The beginning with Shadow was good, along with the killer moogle. Ended a bit abruptly, but I guess that happens a lot with TT stuff. Edits weren't bad.

Tootbook: Heh heh, Leo's a perv. Explains why he gets beaten up so often in FF sprite flashes. And I gotta admit, Cecil and Edgar talking camp is pretty funny. A bit difficult to tell who was speaking though. Well, you know I like your stuff anyway. =P

HAcoreRD: Nice representation of Kefka. Always knew he was a wuss, but an evolved Edward would take it a bit far (I prefer Kuja, he's more calculating and I like that in a villain). Heh, Gau's grammar is already bad enough without learning 1337 though. Good work.

Xanadu32: Nice FFVII sprites. The fight scene was a bit slow, but the ending was funny.

Luigi_dude12: Hmm. Not as good as the others. The fight scene was OK, but a bit off in parts. Plus other than the weird pink guy it wasn't really humourous. The sprites used were good though. The end was disturbing, but raised a smile.

Voted 4 overall, would have given the review score an 8, but the music brought it down a bit. :( I noticed Blue Laguna in the credits. It would have been cool to hear some music from non-FF games. Star Ocean and Shadow Hearts have some pretty good tunes, along with some of the other games.

That aside, good work everyone.

SquareHard responds:

well, the benny hill was non FF? <3, but other than that, pretty much all FF, but it was a FF TT after all anyways :D, thx for the review

Not bad

I enjoyed this one. The glowing disco style background was cool, I'll have to learn how to do that should the need arise. The lip-synching was pretty well done too. Is the Prince sprite one of your own edits, it looks pretty good.

SquareHard responds:

yea, i did the prince sprite myself, lol, thx for the compliment on that one :D

Improved over the last one

This is looking a lot better now. That extra scene was a bit disturbing, heh heh. I like the sarcastic streak that Crono has in this series (I have a sarcastic sense of humour myself, so I can relate). Nice touch on choosing where you can go, too. I noticed a higher framerate in this one too, and the sword-slashing looked pretty nice.

The only setback is that it's still somewhat short. I was expecting it to at least get to where Marle disappears before ending. Also, regarding music size. Try exporting the swf at 16kbps sound, or right-click on the mp3 in your library, go to properties and uncheck the "Use imported MP3 quality" box and set it to 16kbps. The quality of music won't be affected too much, and the file size will definitely go down (I assume it's still the music bringing the filesize up).

That aside, I enjoyed this episode, and you're getting good at flash. Looking forward to the next.

Cryokenetic responds:

Thanks for the tips. I will try and implament them in the next EP.

All hail Strawberry and B!

A very B animation indeed my good man. Nice effect on the car flipping too. Pube Muppet needs subtitles though. Overall I enjoyed.

Now this looks like it could be worthwhile...

Not been much in the way of Zelda flash recently. Must have taken a while to do all the camera panning and such. I felt that it was used a bit too much though. Some of the music got on my nerves after a while too. The remixes weren't bad though. The 0 in Humour... well, it's not meant to be a humourous flash, so that's why.

I'll keep an eye out for this series.

PyroWizard responds:

Perhaps I did overdo the various "camera effects"... I've had mixed responses on them, some people saying they like it, some people saying they don't. I guess I should cut down on the pans/zooms a bit in the next one.

Thanks for the review.

Hmm

Not bad. With the first scene, the click to advance buttons were a good idea, as they cut the frame rate down, but it was irritating moving the mouse about to get to the different boxes. I'd suggest putting a play button at the bottom of the screen where that Menu button is.

Onto the movie itself. As usual, the story advances pretty well, and the fight scene at the end was a nice addition after all the talking and walking of the previous three or so episodes. Music was well-chosen, and sound effects were put to good use. I'm sort of half-and-half about the music used in the final scene with the fight though. Not sure whether it fit or not. With Zero vs the guy with the ice powers (I forgot his name) it worked, and I guess it gives the feeling of betrayal as Crey summons his friend to kill Harpuia.

To future reviewers; understand that this is quite an involved plotline, so it may be hard to pick up on to begin with.

Anyway, good work, and I hope to see some more action in the next episode.

KNanakase responds:

Actually, I was kind of indecisive about the music in the fight scene as well. I was originally going to use "Forze del male" from Kingdom Hearts, but I felt it wasn't fast paced enough. So I used "Disappeared" again. Oh, and the guy with ice powers is Mikagami. I wonder if I should re-submit the episode with that music in place of "Disappeared" to see how it works. Anyways, glad you liked the movie.

That was very well done

Reminds me of one of those silent cartoons with music representing a character's feelings or something (I don't get what I'm trying to say here)

Cartoony graphics, good humour, and fairly pleasant music. I enjoyed it.

TmsT responds:

I know what you mean. I love those classic cartoons.
Thanks!

Nice work everyone

The introduction of a sprite time trial makes me wish my flash skills were better lol.

Anyway, I'll break it down:

Gamma00: Pretty funny, but the text was way too small (I watched the separate submission). The ending raised a smile, but I felt it missed something. 7/10

BlackDevilX: Excellent work. Really fast-paced fighting scene on that one. Although clicking the text when they talked stopped the music, which I found a bit irritating. 9/10

SuperYoshi89: Hmm... not so good to be honest compared to the others. The sprites were too small, plus it seemed to have more talking than action. The fighting wasn't bad though. 6/10

Square Hard: The Link edit was a nice touch, and the fight scenes weren't too bad. Not as fast-paced though. The action was there anyway. 7/10

Good work to everyone, and I'll keep an eye out for more of these.

BlackDevilX responds:

Thank you for you review!

Still needs work

It's decent, but it still could do with a lot of improvement. Here's where I think it could improve:

- Length. The problem with these is they're pretty short for what they are. Personally I reckon these four could have been compressed down to 3 at most (the first was probably the shortest). CT isn't a short game, so be careful about having too many episodes. That said, Secret of Mana Theater or whatever has over 100 or something. That said, the bonus scene was a nice touch.

- Sound. Music loops aren't so hot, plus it's too quiet in places. Also, as I said in my last review, sound effects would really help out. Do some Google-searching for either CT or even FF sound effects packs. They'll improve it a lot, especially in the fight-scenes.

- File size. Not entirely sure how it's 4 megs, but I'd guess at it being the music. Try and compress it a bit (there's a tutorial on NG telling you how to do that). If it's not the music then I'm not sure what to tell you.

Other than that, it was fairly humourous and built up quite well, but I hope you take my suggestions into consideration for the next episode.

Cryokenetic responds:

Thanks for all the tips! I'll be sure to implament as many as I can in the next Episode!

Good

Visually, it looks good, plus the music choice was nice. A bit wordy, but story beats senseless violence in my book. I gotta admit I'd have preferred the fight scene between Terra and Sabin to have been done the same as the tournament in episodes 3 & 4(?) though (I noticed that they were more of a real-time style, this seemed more turn-based). The spells were cool though.

Keep it up.

Tootbook responds:

:D

A thing with stuff.
